Join the Andersonville Chamber of Commerce and Neil Stern of the Law Office of Neil Stern, on Thursday January 30th at 1PM at Uvae Wine Bar and Kitchen in Andersonville for an informational seminar on new legislation impacting businesses. Topics including: marijuana legalization, sexual harassment prevention training and policies, the prohibition on salary history inquiries, and more will be covered.
Neil Stern is a uniquely creative labor and employment attorney with decades of experience advising companies ranging from very small businesses up to publicly traded Fortune 500 companies. Neil has separately built and run a small business himself, so he has a deep understanding of the balance his clients require between legal and practical considerations. Neil has deep expertise in all aspects of the employer-employee relationship. This includes macro-level issues such as strategic HR planning, layoff planning, policy and communications plans, supervisory and managerial training, and company closures and re locations, as well as day-to-day issues such as FMLA, ADA, and performance assessment and discipline. Neil has also dealt extensively with projects requiring face-to-face communications with employees and their representatives, such as discrimination claims, union contract negotiations, grievances and arbitrations, and employee training. Neil has worked with industries ranging from light and heavy manufacturing to commercial printing to restaurants, professional services firms, and most everything in between, enabling him to bring a wide breadth of knowledge to bear on whatever challenges his clients may be facing. For his smaller clients he often functions as, in effect, their HR director, creating policies and helping to implement them, while for his larger clients he serves as a valuable outside resource to their in-house law and/or HR departments, working hand-in-hand with them to achieve their corporate goals. Neil understands that while it’s important to win lawsuits, the real victory often comes from avoiding the lawsuit in the first place. Most lawyers make their money when their clients make a mistake; Neil makes his by helping his clients get it right in the first place.
Attendees will gain practical advice on how to handle common legal issues and a Government Relations update.
