We are thrilled to welcome Keynote speakers for our Back to School Networking Brunch, Liz Knutson of the Neighborhood Parent Network, Antonio Garcia founder and host of Dadwell & Co., and Lourdes Nicholls of Chicago Parent Magazine to talk about how they incorporate local and independent business as part of their mission and marketing practices.

Elizabeth Knutson joined NPN as its Executive Director in August 2016 and is responsible for the long-term strategic direction and day-to-day management of the organization. She has spent 13 years in member-based non-profits, most recently as the Director of Marketing at the American Planning Association and, before that, as the Director of Marketing at the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago. Elizabeth lives in Ravenswood Manor with her husband and two daughters.

Neighborhood Parents Network, a 501(c)3 non-profit, connects a diverse community of families by providing support and resources designed to solve the challenges of parenting in Chicago. Parents come to NPN to find childcare, navigate their school search, and connect with other Chicago parents and local experts. We are known for our annual preschool and elementary school fair, developmental differences resource fair, new moms groups, and more.

Antonio García is founder and host of The Dadwell Podcast.

Dadwell & Co. is an independent media project at the intersection of creativity and fatherhood. The Dadwell Podcast shares stories about  maker/artist/designer dads who are managing thriving creative practices  while remaining present, engaged, kick-ass fathers. Dadwell & Co. media includes podcasts, essays,  social media, and short films.

Each episode, Antonio explores a different dad's creative practice, fathering philosophy, and practical tactics for navigating the stress, fatigue, resentment, wonder, pride, and joy of raising the creative bar while simultaneously raising small humans.

If you're struggling to strike a balance between fatherhood and your life as a maker/artist/designer?or just want to hear honest parenting talk from successful entrepreneurial creatives?this is the podcast for you.

Lourdes Nicholls has worked for Chicago Parent for over 20 years and has worked with large and small businesses all over the Chicagoland area.  She can work with any budget to reach families through Chicago Parent's print publications, website, social media and events.
