I have 15 yrs on the job. I started in 2005 in the 9th District(covered the area of Bridgeport, Back of the Yards, Brighton Park, Canaryville, and parts of China Town) . I then went to a citywide unit in 2008 that was focused on violence suppression and was sent to hot spots throughout the City. After that unit was disbanded I worked in the 6th District (Auburn Gresham) in 2011 for approximately 4years. In 2015 I spent close to 4 yrs in a counter-terrorism unit that dealt with events that drew large crowds (marathons, sporting events, concerts, etc) as well as providing dignitary protection to visiting politicians. I made Sergeant in 2019 and worked in the 3rd District(Grand Crossing and Jackson Park neighborhood) before coming to the 20th District to take over Sgt. Bethishou’s spot in the Caps office in August of this year and look forward to starting this new chapter in my career.
As far as my experience with Andersonville, My wife and I would come out to the neighborhood on a regular basis to eat at some of the restaurants like Reza`s, Hamburger Marys, and Icosium Kafe, when it was still located at Foster and Clark.
