Live concerts are back! The International Chamber Artists’ 2020-21 season continues with a concert featuring the String Quartet by ICA’s newly appointed composer-in-residence James M. Stephenson and Gabriel Fauré’s Piano Quintet No. 1 in D Minor, Op. 89. Join us in person on Friday, November 20 at 7:30 PM at St. Gregory the Great Church (5545 N. Paulina, Chicago). Stephenson, an acclaimed local composer, wrote his brilliant String Quartet depicting a cross-country cycling trip from Oregon to South Carolina. It includes a middle movement that was a surprise present for his wife to-be, and a fast, perpetual motion last movement. Fauré’s Piano Quintet No. 1 is a masterpiece with long, lyrical lines, delicate textures, and a dreamy quality. Admission to both concerts is free ($15 donation recommended). In-person concerts will follow strict COVID-19 safety protocols, including: ? Cleaned and sanitized venues ? Seating six feet apart ? Limited attendance ? Registration required, before or onsite ? Face covering required ? No intermissions ? Only non-wind instruments performed live ? Performances live streamed, when possible NOTE: Registration for in-person concerts is required to maintain safety protocols.
