Discovering the History of my Ancestors by Sally Williams Sally Williams embarked on researching her family history to try to understand why her Swedish grandparents immigrated to the US in the late 19th century. What she discovered was more than she bargained for. She will take us on a journey from Swedish explorers traversing the globe and bringing home what they learned from other cultures, to the conditions of peasant life in the early 1900s that caused Swedes to migrate to America. Swedish immigrants brought the best of Sweden with them — skills, achievements, and celebrations — that make their descendants proud of our heritage. Cost is free for the Swedish American Museum’s Genealogical Society members; non-member cost is $10. Reservations required and can be made via email to genealogy@samac.org or by calling 773.728.8111 for members. Non-members can use the PayPal button below.
