Job Description
Role Title:         Sales Specialist & Assistant Manager, Lakeview
The Specialist provides an excellent customer experience for potential and existing customers.   Assists the agency owner with attaining agency service goals. Maintains effective customer relationships, understands customer`s needs and matches them with appropriate product and service offerings. Promotes brand awareness through participation in agency and community events.
The staff member is responsible for attaining sales, profitability and service goals for personal lines products.
Insurance Sales
  • Proactively cross sells and or coordinates with agency team members to provide additional coverage to existing customers
  • Prospects for new business through leads, telephone calls, networking events, trade shows and personal contacts (Includes leads through Center of Influences, social media, Business to Business and Business to Consumer networks, and sales lead groups)
  • Secures new business through individual effort and established lead methods
  • Prepares quotations and applications and delivers effective presentations in order to close sales
Customer Service (cross-trained proficiency only)
  • Greets and welcomes customers arriving in the office
  • Provides personalized, professional customer service experiences through building trust and developing strong customer relationships
  • Responds to customer inquiries regarding coverages, billing, claims or products by following established agency processes and procedures
  • Processes changes to existing accounts and policies
  • Assists customers with claims by directing them to the appropriate Claims Department contacts and resources. Follows up to ensure customer needs are addressed
Agency Operations
  • Schedules appointments with existing or prospective customers for agency owner
  • Performs daily administrative functions to assist the agency owner
  • Assists with set up and execution of agency events (including some evenings and weekends)
  • Schedules office hours with other team members for Lakeview hours
  • Recruits and trains new staff
  • Maintain office supplies and atmosphere
Company and Brand Promotion
  • Develops, maintains and cultivates community contacts to enhance agency visibility and maximize new business opportunities
  • Participates in events designed to promote brand awareness and educate consumers (including evenings and weekends)

Knowledge and Skill Development
  • Continually improves knowledge in area or field of specialization, insurance industry, products, underwriting requirements, sales, customer service and supporting technology
  • Participates in continuing education and professional designation programs
  • Required by state statutes to have proper insurance licensing to sell, solicit or negotiate insurance products.  The following lines of authority are required for this position:  Property and Casualty
  • Valid driver’s license required
Role Requirements
  • Ability to work independently to plan, set priorities and organize work
  • Active involvement in the local community
  • Demonstrated sales and customer service experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with PC software applications (Microsoft Office Suites, Internet Explorer, etc.)
  • Experience using a wide range of digital devices such as smartphones, tablets and laptop computers
  • Experience with social media platforms, including, but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn, etc.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Education/Designations
  • Demonstrated knowledge of insurance concepts and principles
  • Demonstrated effective personal lines prospecting and sales experience
Working Conditions
  • Non-typical schedules (evenings or weekends) included weekly / monthly
  • General office setting
