About Us

At Emanuel Congregation, we open our doors to all who seek richer, more meaningful lives. Together, our diverse community engages in prayer, lifelong learning and tikkun olam (repairing the world), empowering adults and children alike to apply Jewish values to our everyday lives and to be a collective force for good. Emanuel has been the home of many Jewish organizations. For nearly ten years Emanuel hosted the Chicago Jewish Day School, which shared classroom and other space for its activities, until it moved into its own campus in 2018. Until 2016 Emanuel was also the home to Or Chadash, a gay and lesbian oriented congregation.
