SUMMARY:Community Safety and De-Escalation Training
DESCRIPTION:In this workshop will go over the principles of mental health crisis work\, understanding your nervous system under stress\, as well as enhance your emotional regulation and de-escalation skills to support someone in crisis. There will be time for reflection on your own skills and reactions\, as well as time to practice in groups with a scenario. The last part of the training will be dedicated to discussing the logistics of crisis intervention in your particular setting. We will equip you with additional grounding and safety planning tools\, as well as an understanding of your role in a mental health crisis. This workshop will be virtual and last 90 minutes. \n\n\n\nWe are looking for folks to put this training to use and join us for the DEI Symposium on November 5 to act as support staff during the event.
