Looking for an exceptional preschool for the 2018-19 school year? Families Together Cooperative Nursery School in Edgewater offers a welcoming school community with outstanding teachers, a research-based approach to learning through play, and a commitment to social justice and anti-bias practices.
Families Together was founded by parents with a desire to be active in their children’s first school experience. Our programs ensure each student's social-emotional, cognitive, creative and physical development through engagement in our thoughtfully designed classrooms and surrounding outdoor environments. Our curriculum is built around the children’s emerging interests and natural sense of wonder, helping to instill self-esteem and nurture enthusiasm for learning. Annual tuition is based on a sliding fee scale relative to a family’s income level.
We're hosting admissions coffee tours on select Tuesday and Wednesday mornings throughout the school year. Our adults-only coffees provide a comprehensive view of our school's emergent curriculum philosophy, our play-based environment, our focus on anti-bias practices, and our cooperative model. You'll speak with our Director and current parents, and take a tour of our classrooms while school is in session. Attendance at an admissions coffee is mandatory for enrollment.
Our two Saturday open houses in January and February are casual drop-in events where children (and their siblings) can play in the classroom and parents can chat with our teaching staff and current parents. Refreshments provided. Open houses are not required admissions events, but they are a great way to get more of a "feel" for the school.
We offer two, three, four, or five day-per-week classes for 2 1/2- to 5-year-olds. We also offer a Monday through Friday lunch enrichment program and a summer camp for enrolled students. Children must be between 2 1/2- and 5-years-old by September 1, 2018 to enroll. Applications are due on March 1, 2018.
