Pet Care Services
Since the time Fran Berry took her first steps, she had a love of animals. Growing up she had dogs, cats, birds, horses and an assortment of reptiles, so it is no surprise that she ended up working in the animal industry. Early on she apprenticed as a dog groomer, was a veterinarian assistant and animal radiographer. She also had experience showing and training dogs, but left that endeavor because the dog-training methods at that time were very aversive. It would take another 20 years and a rowdy rescued pup to discover that positive reinforcement training was the most rewarding and satisfying way to motivate a dog. Once she started studying the science of animal behavior and training, she was hooked!
Fran earned her Dog Trainer credentials through the Certification Council For Professional Dog Trainers, and completed the University of Washington’s preeminent Applied Animal Behavior program.
Her professional memberships include Pet Professional Guild, International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants, Animal Behavior Society, Association of Pet Dog Trainers and Behavior Education Network. She is an AKC evaluator for the Canine Good Citizen exam, and a mentor for aspiring trainers from Animal Behavior College.
In her spare time she writes about dog behavior and is currently working on a book that she plans to finish one day!
Fran shares a home with her rescued animals, (the office assistants): Fonzie, Fanny, Flint and Fauci, collectively known as The F-Troop!
