About Us

We are a not for profit (501)c3, non-sectarian, educational organization located in the Andersonville neighborhood on the north side of Chicago, Illinois. We are a co-educational day school enrolling children from ages 2 to 14 guided by the philosophy of Maria Montessori. Rogers Park Montessori School (RPMS) is accredited by the American Montessori Society (AMS) and the Independent Schools Association of Central States (ISACS).
RPMS was founded by ten parents in September of 1966 in a converted space at St. Ignatius parish and continues to provide quality education to the children of Chicago. Today, now in our 61,000 sq. ft. education facility at 1800 West Balmoral Ave., we dedicate our time to inspire each child to reach their highest potential, as an individual and a learner, and to become a vital member of the global community.
We are guided by the progression of peace: within self, relationships, school, community, and ultimately, peace throughout the greater world.
This is the Montessori way. And we are RPMS.
